Skye Rubel
Experiential Programming & Talent Lead at Vox Media
Skye Rubel spearheads the experiential programming and talent strategy at Vox Media, with renowned brands like New York Magazine, The Cut, Vox, Eater, The Verge, and Thrillist. Her role entails crafting compelling content for the company’s flagship events and conferences, such as Code Conference, the Vox Media Podcast Stage at SXSW, Pivot MIA and more. Skye collaborates closely with eminent journalists like Kara Swisher, Scott Galloway, Nilay Patel, and Preet Bharara to curate impactful live journalism experiences featuring top executives, leaders, and celebrities from diverse industries.
Before joining Vox Media, Skye excelled in various event and communications roles, including Program Manager at the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and Communications & Events Manager at MPA–The Association of Magazine Media. Notably, at the ANA, she orchestrated Inspire Together, a virtual celebration hailed by the CEO as one of their best events. During her tenure at MPA, Skye programmed the American Magazine Media Conference, hosting esteemed business figures and A-list celebrities like Michelle Obama, Ron Howard, Martha Stewart, and Julianne Moore. She also founded and chaired MPA Next, a community fostering skills and networking for junior professionals in the magazine media sector.
Skye's achievements have been recognized with FOLIO Magazine’s 2018 Rising Star Award and the FIPP & UPM Rising Star in Media, honoring her as an emerging leader in the industry. She is a proud alumna of the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia, where she served as editor-in-chief of the university’s multicultural magazine, leading it to win the UGA NAACP Image Award for outstanding organization during her tenure.
